Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rules 11.10, 11.13 and 11.18, Senator Schwertner reconvened the Senate Committee on Business and Commerce in the Senate Press Room, 2E.9, at 2:00 PM.
The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 111. Senator King moved the adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator King moved that HB 111 do not pass but that CSHB 111 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 5 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 150. Senator King sent up a committee substitute. The Chair recognized Senator Parker to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the house bill as engrossed. Senator King moved the adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator King moved that HB 150 do not pass but that CSHB 150 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 11 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 2517. Senator King moved that HB 2517 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 11 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 2963. Senator King sent up a committee substitute. The Chair recognized Senator Hall to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the house bill as engrossed. Senator King moved the adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator King moved that HB 2963 do not pass but that CSHB 2963 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 11 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator King moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.
The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 3520. Senator King moved that HB 3520 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 4 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The Chair laid out as a matter of pending business HB 5435. Senator King moved that HB 5435 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 11 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent. Senator King moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 2:17 PM Senator Schwertner moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
