Pursuant to a notice posted on September 1, 2025, and permission granted on August 28, 2025, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Disaster Preparedness & Flooding, Select met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, at 6:15 p.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King; Bonnen; Darby; Johnson; Moody; and Wilson.

A quorum was present.

(Representative Louderback now present.)

SB 1

The chair laid out SB 1.

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

The chair recognized Representative Darby to explain SB 1.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

The chair moved that SB 1, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                           Representatives King; Bonnen; Darby; Johnson; Louderback; Moody; Wilson (7).

Nays:                           None (0).

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

Absent:                        Representatives Martinez; Virdell (2).

At 6:18 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
