Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 6, 2025, and permission granted on May 6, 2025, to meet while the House was in session, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Smithee, at 7:00 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Smithee; Wu; Bowers; Cook; Jones, Jolanda; Money; Moody; Rodríguez Ramos; and Virdell.

The chair laid out HB 3744 as pending business.

 

Representative Jones, Jolanda moved that HB 3744, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
