AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the right of the clerk of a court to deduct from the |
|
|
amount of the excess proceeds from an ad valorem tax sale of |
|
|
property the cost of postage for sending to the former owner of the |
|
|
property a notice of the owner's right to claim the proceeds. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 34.03, Tax Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) The clerk may deduct from the amount of the excess |
|
|
proceeds the cost of postage for sending to the former owner of the |
|
|
property a notice under Subsection (a)(1). |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
