Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Texas Ports, Select was held on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in the Senate Chamber, Back Rail.

The chair called the meeting to order at 7:20 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 1915 and recognized the author, Senator Alvarado, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Alvarado sent up a committee substitute.

 

Senator Alvarado moved the adoption of the committee substitute.  There being no objection, the committee substitute was adopted.

 

Senator Alvarado moved that SB 1915 do not pass but that CSSB 1915 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent. 

 

Senator Alvarado assumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 2222 and recognized the author, Senator Creighton, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Creighton sent up a committee substitute.

 

Senator Creighton moved the adoption of the committee substitute.  There being no objection, the committee substitute was adopted.

 

Senator Creighton moved that SB 2222 do not pass but that CSSB 2222 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 2223 and recognized the author, Senator Creighton, to explain the bill.

 

Senator Creighton sent up a committee substitute.

 

Senator Creighton moved the adoption of the committee substitute.  There being no objection, the committee substitute was adopted.

 

Senator Creighton moved that SB 2223 do not pass but that CSSB 2223 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.

 

Senator Creighton resumed the chair.

 

There being no further business, at 7:24 PM Senator Alvarado moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
