The Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations will meet on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The hearing will be held at the following location:
Pharr Events Center 3000 North Cage Boulevard Pharr, Texas 78577
The Committee will hear invited and public testimony on the following interim charge:
Housing Affordability: Examine issues that impact housing affordability, including the effect of local government taxes, fees, and mandates. Evaluate the cost of purchasing a single-family residence in different parts of the state, factoring in the impact of local rules and regulations, to identify matters of policy with the greatest influence, and identify ways to increase transparency and awareness prior to the adoption of costly local ordinances or orders.
Public testimony will be limited to three (3) minutes per person. For all witnesses providing written testimony, please submit twenty (20) copies to the Committee, with your name on each copy.
