Pursuant to a notice posted on May 16, 2018, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation & Tourism met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Frullo, at 9:09 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Frullo; Faircloth; Fallon; Krause; and Martinez, "Mando".
A quorum was present.
The Chairman made opening remarks. Senator Lucio was also in attendance and made opening remarks.
The committee met and heard testimony on Interim Charge #4.
Charge 4: Monitor the agencies and programs under the Committee's jurisdiction and oversee the implementation of relevant legislation passed by the 85th Legislature.
· Texas Historical Commission Programs
· Texas Parks and Wildlife Border Operations

Then the committee heard testimony on Interim Charge #1.
Charge 1 (Partial): Evaluate the economic, recreational, and biological impacts and needed repairs from Harvey as they relate to applicable state agencies and the following areas and industries under the purview of the Committee:
e. Travel and tourism
f. In addition, provide recommendations on how to allow for a timely recovery of these areas from Harvey, and how to mitigate the impact of, and adequately prepare for, future natural disasters.

At 11:19 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
