R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Greg Myer was elected to Place 6 on the Plano |
|
|
Independent School District school board in 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Myer and his wife, Ann, moved to Plano in 2001 so |
|
|
that their two children could attend the city's schools; prior to |
|
|
his election to the school board, he served for five years on the |
|
|
Plano ISD Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee; he is |
|
|
a member of the Plano Band Boosters, and he has contributed his time |
|
|
and energies to the PTA at every level, from elementary through high |
|
|
school; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Missouri, where he |
|
|
earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees, Mr. Myer is |
|
|
director of deployment for a software company in the real estate |
|
|
industry; he is active in the North Texas Pioneers Rotary Club, the |
|
|
Collin County Parks Foundation Board, and the Boy Scouts, and he has |
|
|
served as president of Plano Youth Leadership, finance chair of |
|
|
Leadership Plano, and chair of the Plano Library Advisory Board; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Greg Myer has compiled a notable record of service |
|
|
to Plano ISD and the community at large, and his experience, |
|
|
insight, and leadership skills will be of significant value to the |
|
|
Plano school board as it continues to fulfill its vital mission; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Greg Myer on |
|
|
his election to the Plano ISD school board and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Myer as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
