Pursuant to SCR 9 and HCR 56, a public hearing of the Joint Committee on Coastal Barrier System was held on Monday, April 11, 2016, in Texas A&M University at Galveston, Room 142.

Chairman Taylor called the meeting to order at 10:03 AM, the following business was transacted:

Chairman Taylor and Chairman Deshotel shared presiding duties.

Mayor Jim Yarbrough of Galveston gave an introduction and welcome.

Admiral Robert Smith III of Texas A&M University at Galveston gave an introduction and welcome.

Chairman Taylor made opening remarks.

Chairman Taylor called invited testimony (see attached witness list).

Senator Sylvia Garcia was present.

Representative Dennis Paul was present.

Congressman Randy Weber was present.

Chairman Deshotel assumed the chair.

Chairman Taylor assumed the chair.

Chairman Taylor called public testimony (see attached witness list).

The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

There being no further business, at 2:48 PM Chairman Taylor moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
