R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Darin Allen, a senior at Bruceville-Eddy High |
|
|
School, has signed a national letter of intent to continue his |
|
|
athletic career at the collegiate level; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A gifted long-distance runner for the |
|
|
Bruceville-Eddy cross-country and track and field squads, |
|
|
Mr. Allen will compete in both sports and pursue his studies at West |
|
|
Texas A&M University in Canyon; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Allen qualified for the UIL cross country state |
|
|
championships for four consecutive years, and he finished in second |
|
|
place overall in Class 3A competition at the 2014 state meet; as a |
|
|
member of the Eagles track team, he won the 2013 district |
|
|
championship in the 3,200-meter race and took part in the regional |
|
|
meet on three occasions; moreover, he was a three-time selection to |
|
|
the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas All-State Team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This exceptional student-athlete has demonstrated a |
|
|
tireless work ethic and an enduring commitment to excellence, and |
|
|
he may take great pride in all that he has accomplished as he looks |
|
|
ahead to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Darin Allen on signing a national |
|
|
letter of intent to run for the West Texas A&M University |
|
|
cross-country and track and field teams and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Allen as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
