R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Beth Wilson Becerra was one of eight Texas A&M |
|
|
University-Corpus Christi employees who were named 2014 40 Under 40 |
|
|
honorees by Corpus Christi Under 40 (CCU40); and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, CCU40 honors 40 men and women under the |
|
|
age of 40 who have worked to make a positive difference in the |
|
|
Corpus Christi area through both their professional and community |
|
|
endeavors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Becerra currently serves as the public affairs |
|
|
manager at A&M-Corpus Christi, where she oversees the school's |
|
|
communication strategy in cooperation with media partners, |
|
|
faculty, and university leadership; a member of the Clean City |
|
|
Committee, she advises the Corpus Christi City Council on issues of |
|
|
littering and recycling; moreover, this esteemed woman is a |
|
|
founding member of GROW Local South Texas, a nonprofit organization |
|
|
that aims to help Coastal Bend residents gain greater access to |
|
|
fresh produce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Beth Wilson Becerra has set an outstanding example |
|
|
of professional achievement and civic engagement, and she may take |
|
|
justifiable pride in her contributions to the Coastal Bend |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Beth Wilson Becerra on her |
|
|
selection as a Corpus Christi 40 Under 40 honoree and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success in her important work; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Becerra as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
