SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 438
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom, whose members
  have come to Austin on March 12, 2013, to celebrate TURF Day at
  the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, The mission of Texans Uniting for Reform and
  Freedom is to defend the property rights of Texans and the
  freedom of Texans to travel; and
         WHEREAS, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom is a
  nonprofit organization whose goal is to educate the public on
  transportation issues, in particular those related to tolls and
  the funding of our highway infrastructure; and
         WHEREAS, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom is a
  grassroots group of citizens active in government and united in
  pursuit of transportation solutions that are fiscally solvent
  and respectful of property rights even as they serve the public
  good; and
         WHEREAS, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom works to
  provide comprehensive information and address concerns about the
  state's financing of toll roads and potential tolling of
  corridors; and
         WHEREAS, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom has been
  crucial in bringing public awareness to concerns related to
  comprehensive development agreements and the Trans-Texas
  Corridor; and
         WHEREAS, Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom champions
  the taxpayer's right to transparency and accountability of state
  government agencies; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, hereby recognize March 12, 2013, as TURF Day at the
  Capitol and call on all Texans to actively engage in the
  political process; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of this special day.
