SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 228
	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
	recognize Dr. Kevin Gee on the occasion of his swearing in as
	president of the Texas Optometric Association, which is taking
	place February 23, 2013; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Gee is a 2002 graduate of the University of
	Houston College of Optometry and the owner of Gee Eye Care in
	Missouri City; he is a specialist in the field of optometric
	glaucoma; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to maintaining his private practice,
	Dr. Gee serves as director of the University Eye Institute Sports
	Vision Performance Center and as an assistant clinical professor
	at his alma mater; and
	WHEREAS, Dr. Gee is active in numerous professional
	organizations, including the American Optometric Association,
	the Optometric Retina Society, and the Harris County Optometric
	Society; among his many awards and honors are Young Optometrist
	of the Year and the Optometric Recognition Award, and he is a
	fellow of the American Academy of Optometry; and
	WHEREAS, He is in much demand as a speaker and has
	published numerous articles in scholarly journals; it is truly
	fitting that he be recognized as he assumes this important
	responsibility; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
	Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Kevin Gee on his many outstanding
	achievements and extend to him congratulations on being named
	president of the Texas Optometric Association; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
