R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
|
death of Robert Van Bibber of Houston on February 1, 2013, at the |
|
|
age of 88; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Houston on December 14, 1924, to Santiago |
|
|
and Elvira Van Bibber, Robert Van Bibber served his country during |
|
|
World War II as a Seabee in the United States Navy; after the war, he |
|
|
embarked on a long career with Southern Pacific Railroad; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A loving family man, Mr. Van Bibber shared many |
|
|
happy years with his wife, Gloria Maria Van Bibber; the couple were |
|
|
blessed with four beloved daughters, Diana, Debra, Doris, and |
|
|
Donna, and their family later grew to include five grandchildren |
|
|
and five great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Known for his kindness and compassion, Robert Van |
|
|
Bibber was always willing to help anyone in need, and he will be |
|
|
deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who held him dear; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Van Bibber and |
|
|
extend sincere condolences to his family: to his daughters, Diana |
|
|
Blackshear and her husband, Roland, Debra Van Bibber, Doris Van |
|
|
Bibber, and Donna Van Bibber; to his grandchildren, Joy Dortch |
|
|
and |
|
|
her husband, Micah, Julie Sohm and her husband, Yori, Joshua Adam |
|
|
Vercher, Christopher Robert Sheffield, and Sierra Ellis; to his |
|
|
great-grandchildren, Zayden Sohm, Darrin Sohm, Joshua Anthony |
|
|
Vercher, Caedo Sheffield, and Rhys Sheffield; and to his other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert Van |
|
|
Bibber. |
