SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 9
	WHEREAS, When they married on July 6, 1963, Yolanda and
	Rudy Almaguer made a lifetime commitment to each other, and their
	mutual trust has been amply rewarded, for they are now
	celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary; and
	WHEREAS, Yolanda and Rudy first met while they were fourth
	grade students at De Zavala Elementary School; they both went on
	to attend Rhodes Junior High School and Lanier High School; she
	graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University, and he served in
	the United States Army, and at the time of their marriage, she was
	a teacher and he was a salesman for a furniture company; and
	WHEREAS, Yolanda served as a teacher in the San Antonio
	Independent School District for 37 years, and Rudy opened his own
	furniture store and later worked for Imperial Bedding; during
	their retirement years, they have enjoyed traveling together
	throughout the United States and to Canada and Mexico; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Almaguer have been blessed with a
	wonderful family; they are beloved and respected by their sons,
	Stephen Wayne Almaguer and Jeffrey Thomas Almaguer, and they take
	joy in their grandson, Anthony Michael Almaguer; and
	WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Almaguer
	is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
	Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend congratulations
	to Yolanda and Rudy Almaguer on their 50th wedding anniversary;
	and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
	this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in
	their lives.
