suspended to hear the following bill(s):

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:58 PM.
There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
At 2:58 PM Senator Davis assumed the chair.
The chair laid out as a matter of pending business
HB 699 and recognized the Senate sponsor, Senator Lucio, Jr., to explain the
bill.
Senator Rodriguez sent up a committee substitute;
Senator Lucio, Jr. moved adoption of the committee substitute; without
objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Lucio, Jr. moved that HB 699 do not pass but
that CSHB 699 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 0
present not voting, and 0 absent.
The chair laid out as a matter of pending business
SB 1809 and recognized the author, Senator Lucio, to explain the bill.
Senator Lucio, Jr. sent up a committee substitute;
the chair recognized Senator Lucio, Jr. to explain the difference between the
committee substitute and the senate bill as filed. Senator Lucio, Jr. moved
adoption of the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Lucio, Jr. moved that SB 1809 do not pass
but that CSSB 1809 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that
it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 2
nays, 0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
The chair laid out as a matter of pending business
SB 1816 and recognized Senator Lucio, Jr., in the absence of the author, to
explain the bill.
At 3:02 PM Senator Lucio, Jr. resumed the chair.
Senator Gallegos, Jr. sent up a committee
substitute; Senator Gallegos, Jr. moved adoption of the committee substitute;
without objection, it was so ordered.
Senator Rodriguez moved that SB 1816 do not pass but
that CSSB 1816 be reported back to the Senate with the recommendation that it
do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0
nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
Senator Seliger moved that the bill be recommended
for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it
was so ordered.
Senator Gallegos, Jr. moved that HB 699 be
recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without
objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 3:05 PM Senator
Lucio, Jr. moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the
chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
