Pursuant to a notice posted on January 9, 2012, the House Committee on Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Jackson, Jim, at 10:08 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Jackson, Jim; Lewis; Bohac; Davis, Sarah; Madden; Raymond; Scott; and Thompson.

A quorum was present.

Child Support Update

The chair called on a representative from the Attorney General’s office to give an update on the new child support guidelines passed during the 82^nd legislature.

Interim Charge

The chair brought forth the first interim charge to be heard: Study the rules of statutory construction and establish a method of determining legislative intent.

At 11:55 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
