R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Vandegrift High School Sports
  Medicine Program are visiting the Capitol on January 31, 2011; and
         WHEREAS, Vandegrift's Sports Medicine Program has 15
  students who study under the leadership of athletics coordinator
  Drew Sanders and two licensed athletic trainers and work with
  school teams in 12 different sports to learn about the athletic
  training profession; participating students are certified in CPR,
  AED, and first aid and are confident in using those skills as
  needed; and
         WHEREAS, Members of the program are visiting the Capitol as
  part of Hit the Hill Day, sponsored by the Texas State Athletic
  Trainers' Association; the event provides an opportunity for
  students to speak with their elected representatives about issues
  affecting the athletic training industry; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of principal Charlie Little,
  Vandegrift High School has earned an "Exemplary" rating from the
  Texas Education Agency, and the sports medicine program is one
  important example of the outstanding opportunities for learning
  that the school provides; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby welcome the members of the Sports Medicine
  Program at Vandegrift High School to the Capitol and extend to them
  sincere best wishes for a memorable and educational visit; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
