Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, an open meeting of the Senate Committee on Nominations was held on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Senator Jackson's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:57 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: 

 

Chairman Jackson moved that the committee vote to approve the nomination of The Honorable Joe Shannon, Jr. as the Criminal District Attorney of Tarrant County.  At 2:59 p.m., by a vote of 4 ayes and 0 nays, the nomination of Shannon was recommended to the full Senate for confirmation.

 

At 3:00 p.m. Senator Jackson moved that the committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair; without objection, it was so ordered.
