Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 17, 2009, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Deshotel, at 12:35 p.m.

 

The roll was answered as follows:

 

Present:              Representatives Deshotel; Elkins; Gattis; Giddings; Keffer; Miller, Sid; Quintanilla (7).

 

Absent:              Representatives Christian; England; Orr; Turner, Sylvester (4).

 

A quorum was present.

 

HB 2295

 

The chair laid out HB 2295 as pending business.

 

Representative Elkins offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Elkins moved that HB 2295, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                             Representatives Deshotel; Elkins; Gattis; Giddings; Keffer; Miller, Sid; Quintanilla (7).

 

Nays:                             None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

 

Absent:                          Representatives Christian; England; Orr; Turner, Sylvester  (4).

 

The chair directed that the March 16, 2009, minutes for the House Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

The chair directed that the March 23, 2009, minutes for the House Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

At 12:37 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
