Amend CSHB 4294 (Senate committee printing) as follows:                      
	(1)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, adding Section 31.004, 
Education Code (page 1, line 19), strike "required" and substitute 
"foundation".

	(2)  In SECTION 4 of the bill, adding Section 31.0231(c), 
Education Code (page 1, line 52), between "the" and "electronic", 
insert "State Board of Education must be given an opportunity to 
comment on the electronic textbook or instructional material.  An".
	(3)  In SECTION 4 of the bill, adding Section 31.0231(c),
