Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 17, 2007, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Dutton, at 12:09 p.m.

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 583.


The chair explained the measure.


The chair closed on the measure.

The chair moved that SB 583, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion failed by the following record vote:

Ayes:                             Representatives Dutton; Eiland (2).


Nays:                             Representatives Bolton; Farrar; Gonzalez Toureilles; Hernandez (4).


Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).


Absent:                          Representatives Farias; Strama; Vaught  (3).


At 12:16 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
