R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, That the housekeeping resolution adopted by the House of |
|
|
Representatives of the 80th Legislature, Regular Session, 2007, be |
|
|
amended by adding the following appropriately numbered section to |
|
|
Article 3 of the resolution: |
|
|
SECTION 3.____. DISPLAY OF "IN GOD WE TRUST" IN HALL OF THE |
|
|
HOUSE. (a) The Committee on House Administration shall display the |
|
|
motto "In God We Trust" on the face of the white portion of the |
|
|
portico located over the speaker's podium and beneath the |
|
|
electronic message screen at the front of the hall of the house. |
|
|
(b) The motto shall be set out in permanently affixed simple |
|
|
gold lettering large enough to be read throughout the hall. The |
|
|
committee shall consult with the State Preservation Board in |
|
|
designing the display of the motto and shall conform the display to |
|
|
any standards of the State Preservation Board intended to ensure |
|
|
that the display is consistent with the aesthetics and design of the |
|
|
other elements of the hall of the house. |
|
|
(c) The committee shall display the motto not later than the |
|
|
30th day after the date this section becomes effective. |
