AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the enforcement of the fares and other charges imposed |
|
|
by certain metropolitan rapid transit authorities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 451.0611, Transportation Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) An authority created before 1980 in which the principal |
|
|
municipality has a population of less than 1.2 million may allow |
|
|
peace officers of another political subdivision serving under a |
|
|
contract with the authority to enforce a resolution passed by a |
|
|
board under this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
