         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Transportation and Homeland Security was held on Wednesday,  
         March 1, 2006, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin,  
         Texas.

         A joint hearing of the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate  
         Transportation and Homeland Security was held.  Chairmen Ogden  
         and Carona shared presiding duties. 
          
         Senator Ogden called the Finance Committee to order at 9:05 a.m.   
         Senator Carona called the Transportation and Homeland Security  
         Committee to order at 9:05 a.m. 
          
         The following business was transacted: 
          
         The Committee heard invited testimony on joint interim charges  
         #1 and #2.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the interim  
         charges are shown on the attached list. 
          
         The roll was called for the Committees. 
          
         The invited testimony resumed. 
          
         There being no public testimony, the interim charges were  
         closed. 
          
         There being no further business, at 11:17 a.m. Senator Ogden  
         moved that the Committees stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chairs.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
