         Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.13, a public hearing of  
         the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on  
         Friday, May 20, 2005, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

         The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:55 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         The Chair laid out Senate Bill 943 which had previously been  
         left pending. 
          
         Senator Armbrister moved that HB 943 be reported favorably to  
         the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be  
         printed.  The motion failed with a record vote of 3 ayes, 2  
         nays, 0 present not voting, and 4 absent. 
          
         With no other business to come before the Committee, at 10:58  
         p.m., the Chair announced that the Committee would stand in  
         recess subject to the call of the Chair.
