         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, an open meeting of the Standing Senate Subcommittee on  
         Agriculture and Coastal Resources was held on Thursday, February  
         17, 2005, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 11:02 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Madla moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearing held on September 16, 2004; without objection, it was so  
         ordered.  Senator Madla moved adoption of the subcommittee  
         rules; without objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         There being no further business, at 11:04 a.m. Senator Estes  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
