         Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, moved by Senator  
         Lindsay, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Nominations  
         was held on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, in the Senate Chamber at  
         Chairman Lindsay's desk.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 1:23 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:  
          
         Vice-chairman Deuell moved that the committee vote on the  
         nominees to the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission. At 1:23  
         p.m., by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent, the committee  
         recommended that the nominees be sent to the full Senate for  
         confirmation. 
          
         Vice-chairman Deuell moved that a vote be taken on the nominees  
         to the Board of Pardons and Paroles. At 1:24 p.m., by a vote of  
         6 ayes, 0 nays and 1 absent the committee recommended that the  
         nominees be sent to the full Senate for confirmation. 
          
         Vice-chairman Deuell moved that the committee vote on all the  
         non- appearing nominees to the following entities: the Evergreen  
         Underground Water Conservation District, the Brazos River  
         Authority Board of Directors and the Trinity River Authority  
         Board of Directors. At 1:25 p.m., by a vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays  
         and 1 absent, the nominees were sent to the full Senate for  
         confirmation. 
          
         There being no further business, at 1:25 p.m. Senator Lindsay  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
