         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Government  
         Organization was held on Thursday, April 27, 2006, in the  
         Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
         Senator Jackson moved adaptation of committee rules, Senator  
         Nelson seconded the motion to adopt committee rules.  
          
         Senator Ellis laid out interim charge number one. 
          
         Senator Ellis laid out interim charge number two. 
          
         At 10:55 a.m. Senator Ellis moved that the committee stand  
         recessed until fifteen minutes after adjournment of the Senate;  
         without objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         At 12:35 p.m. Senator Ellis reconvened . 
          
         At 1:12 p.m. Senator Ellis recessed; without objection, it was  
         so ordered.
