         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was  
         held on Thursday, May 4, 2006, in the Capitol Extension, Room  
         E1.036, at Austin, Texas. 
          
                                       ***** 
                                           
         The chair called the meeting to order at 9:41 a.m from a  
         previous recess.  The following business was transacted:   
          
         At 9:41 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand  
         recessed until 12:30 p.m.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 
          
         At 12:30 p.m. Senator Ogden reconvened the Committee. 
          
         At 12:30 p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand  
         recessed until one hour after adjournment of the Senate. Without  
         objection, it was so ordered. 
          
         At the conclusion of the Senate session, Senator Ogden announced  
         from the Senator Chamber that the Finance Committee would not  
         reconvene today.  He then announced that the Committee would  
         meet at 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 5, 2006. 
          
         There was no action taken for the following bill(s): HB 1, HB 5,  
         and SB 6.
