         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was  
         held on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, in the Capitol Extension,  
         Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.  The  
         following business was transacted:   
          
         The roll was called. 
          
         The Committee heard testimony on State Auditor's Office Report #  
         05-051, Follow-Up on Department of State Health Services.   
         Witnesses testifying and registering on the report are shown on  
         the attached list.   
          
         A quorum was established. 
          
         The Committee heard testimony on State Auditor's Office Reports  
         # 06-009 and #06-018, Health and Human Services Commission  
         Consolidation of Administrative Support.  Witnesses testifying  
         and registering on the reports are shown on the attached list.   
          
         The Committee heard testimony on State Auditor's Office Report #  
         05-040, Department of Public Safety's Implementation of Driver  
         Responsibility Program.  Witnesses testifying and registering on  
         the report are shown on the attached list.   
          
         The Committee heard testimony on State Auditor's Office Report #  
         05-036, Railroad Commission's Oil and Gas Migration Project.   
         Witnesses testifying and registering on the report are shown on  
         the attached list.   
          
         There being no additional witnesses, the public testimony was  
         closed. 
          
         There being no further business, at 1:00 p.m. Senator Ogden  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
