         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was  
         held on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, in the Capitol Extension,  
         Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m.  The  
         following business was transacted:   
          
         The clerk called the roll. 
          
         The Committee heard invited testimony on the subject of Medicaid  
         Fraud.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject are  
         shown on the attached list.   
          
         A quorum was established.   
          
         Senator Ogden made a motion to adopt interim Committee rules.   
         There was a roll call vote.  The motion carried with a record  
         vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 6 absent. 
          
         Testimony on Medicaid Fraud resumed.   
          
         The Committee heard invited testimony on State Auditor's Office  
         Reports.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the subject  
         are shown on the attached list.   
          
         There being no public testimony, the subjects were closed. 
          
         There being no further business, at 1:02 p.m. Senator Ogden  
  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
