Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule
11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was
held on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, in the Capitol Extension,
Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:01 a.m. There being
a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
The chair laid out SB 1, the General Appropriations Bill, which
had been left pending at a previous hearing.
The chair recognized Tina Beck of the LBB to provide testimony
on Article IV Special Provisions.
Testimony was given on the following agencies with witnesses on
the attached list:
Supreme Court of Texas
Court of Criminal Appeals
Courts of Appeals
At 9:50 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand
recessed until 10:00 a.m.; without objection, it was so ordered.
The Committee reconvened at 10:04 a.m.
Testimony resumed on the following agencies, with witnesses on
the attached list:
State Office of Court Administration
State Prosecuting Attorney
State Law Library
State Commission on Judicial Conduct
At 10:53 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand
recessed until 45 minutes after adjournment of the Senate;
without objection it was so ordered.
The Committee reconvened at 12:41 p.m.

At 2:54 p.m. Senator Zaffirini assumed the chair.
The chair recognized Michele Connolly of the LBB to provide
testimony on Correctional Population Projections.

At 5:39 p.m. Senator Ogden resumed the chair.

Senator Ogden moved that SB 1 be left pending; without
objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 6:47 p.m. Senator Ogden
moved that the Committee stand recessed until 8 a.m. the
following morning, February 3, 2005. Without objection, it was
so ordered.
