Witnesses registering and testifying on the "Top Ten Percent" law are shown on the attached list. There being a quorum present at 9:26 a.m., the clerk called the roll. Senator Averitt moved adoption of the minutes from the previous hearings held on March 21, 2005, and March 22, 2005; without objection, it was so ordered. At 10:51 a.m. Senator West moved that the committee stand recessed until 30 minutes after adjournment of the Senate; without objection, it was so ordered. At 2:55 p.m. the committee reconvened and continued to hear invited testimony. At 3:54 p.m. Senator Williams assumed the chair. The chair laid out SB 333 and recognized the author, Senator West, to explain the bill. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. At 4:48 p.m. Senator Janek assumed the chair. At 5:37 p.m. Senator Staples assumed the chair. The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
