Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of
the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, April
17, 2006, in the Senate Chamber at Senator Brimer's Desk.

The chair called the meeting to order at 4:54 p.m. There being
a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
At 4:54 p.m. Senator Barrientos assumed the chair.
The chair laid out SB 9 and recognized the author, Senator
Brimer, to explain the bill. Senator Wentworth moved that SB 9
be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that
it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record
vote of 6 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
The chair laid out SJR 6 and recognized the author, Senator
Brimer, to explain the bill. Senator Wentworth moved that SJR 6
be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that
it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record
vote of 6 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.
Senator Brimer resumed the chair.
Senator Brimer laid out the Subcommittee on Capital Funding and
Higher Education budget for approval. Senator Van de Putte
moved approval of the budget; without objection, it was so
ordered.
Senator Brimer laid out the Subcommittee on Emerging
Technologies and Economic Development budget for approval.
Senator Shapiro moved approval of the budget; without objection,
it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 4:58 p.m. Senator Wentworth
moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of
the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
