         Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of  
         the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Tuesday, June  
         21, 2005, in the Senate Chamber at Senator Chris Harris' desk.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 1:24 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
         Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.   
         The chair laid out SB 12 and recognized the author, Senator  
         Harris, to explain the bill.  Senator Hinojosa moved that SB 12  
         be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that  
         it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record  
         vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.   
          
         The chair laid out SJR 11 and recognized the author, Senator  
         Harris, to explain the bill.  Senator Hinojosa moved that SJR 11  
         be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that  
         it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a record  
         vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.   
         Senator Harris resumed the chair.   
         There being no further business, at 1:26 p.m. Senator Harris  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
