         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 24,  
         2006, the House Committee on Ways & Means met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Keffer, Jim, at 12:15 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:    Representative Edwards (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 5. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Hamric to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         The chair recognized Representative Hamric to close on the  
         measure.  
          
         Representative Ritter moved that HB 5, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:
