         Committee on Public Education Reform, Select met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Grusendorf, at 8:20 p.m.

         Absent:    Representative Keffer, Bill (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair recognized Representative Swinford to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         Information was provided by a resource witness from the Texas  
         Legislative Council.

         The chair laid out SB8. 
          
         SB8 was left pending without objection.  
          
         HB8 was left pending without objection.  
          
          At 9:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
