Pursuant to a notice posted on June 21, 2005, the House
Committee on Judiciary met in a formal meeting and was called to
order by the chair, Representative Hartnett, at 3:04 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Hartnett; Hughes; Hopson; Alonzo;
Gonzales; Keel; Van Arsdale (7).
Absent: Representatives Solis; Straus (2).
A quorum was present.
HB 11 and HB 12
The chair laid out HB 11, and HB 12, and explained the measures.
Representative Hartnett offered an amendment to HB 11.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendment into a
committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Alonzo moved that HB 11, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hartnett; Hughes; Alonzo;
Gonzales; Van Arsdale (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: Representatives Hopson; Keel (2).
Absent: Representatives Solis; Straus (2).
The chair offered an amendment to HB 12.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendment into a
committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Hartnett moved that HB 11, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hartnett; Hughes; Alonzo;
Gonzales; Van Arsdale (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: Representatives Hopson; Keel (2).
Absent: Representatives Solis; Straus (2).
At 3:10 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
