         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on July 21,  
         2005, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Morrison, at 11:24 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                    Giddings; Harper-Brown (5). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Goolsby; Gallego; Jones, Jesse; Rose  
                    (4). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 6, and explained the measure. 
          
         Representative Morrison closed on the measure. 
          
         Representative Brown, Fred moved that HB 6, without amendments,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Morrison; Brown, Fred; Dawson;  
                         Giddings; Harper-Brown (5). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         At 11:28 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
