         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18,  
         2005, the House Committee on Financial Institutions met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Solomons, at 5:40 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Solomons; Guillen; Chavez; Flynn;  
                    Orr; Riddle (6). 
          
         Absent:    Representative McCall (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1479 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1479. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Chavez to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         Representative Riddle moved that SB 1479, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Solomons; Guillen; Chavez;  
                         Flynn; Orr; Riddle (6). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0). 
          
         Absent:         Representative McCall  (1). 
          
         At 5:43 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
