         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 5, 2005, the House Committee  
         on Economic Development met in a formal meeting and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Ritter, at 3:01 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Ritter; Cook, Byron; Anchia; Deshotel  
                    (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Kolkhorst; McCall; Seaman (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 3249 
          
         The chair laid out HB 3249 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Cook, Byron offered a complete committee  
         substitute.  
          
         Representative Deshotel moved to adopt the committee substitute.   
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Deshotel moved that HB 3249, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Ritter; Cook, Byron; Anchia;  
                         Deshotel (4). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         Representative Cook, Byron moved that SB 1309, without  
         amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion
