         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 18, 2005, the House  
         Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Madden, at 12:22 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Madden; Jones, Delwin; McReynolds;  
                    Noriega, Melissa (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Haggerty; Allen, Ray; Hochberg (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Committee heard invited testimony from representatives of  
         the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, and the Commission on  
         Jail Standards. (see attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative Allen, Ray now present.) 
          
         (Representative Hochberg now present.) 
          
         The Committee heard testimony from representatives of the  
         Community Justice Assistance Division. (see attached witness  
         list.) 
          
         (Representative Haggerty now present.) 
          
         The Committee then heard public testimony.  (see attached  
         witness list.) 
          
         At 4:00 p.m., on the motion of Representative Jones, Delwin and  
         without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call  
         of the chair.
