         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 5, 2006, the House Committee  
         on Appropriations-S/C on Criminal Justice met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Turner, at 10:08 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Turner; Haggerty; Hope; Pena (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representative Edwards (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 10:55 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the chair. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 12:44 p.m. and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Turner. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

         Absent:    Representatives Edwards; Haggerty (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.
