         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Joint Select Committee on Public  
         School Finance was held on Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in the  
         House Appropriations Committee Room, Capitol Extension E1.030,  
         Austin, Texas.

         Senator Shapiro called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m.  There  
         being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
                                        
         Witnesses testifying and registering on school finance are shown  
         on the attached list.  
          
         At 10:14 a.m. Representative Grusendorf assumed the chair.  At  
         10:25 a.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair.   
          
         The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.  
          
         There being no further business, at 12:29 p.m. Senator Shapiro  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
