Senator Janek moved that the minutes from the previous hearing
be approved; without objection, the minutes were approved by
unanimous consent.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 401 which had previously been
left pending.
Senator Deuell moved that SB 401 be reported favorably to the
Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 2
absent. Senators West and Zaffirini asked to be shown voting
aye; without objection, the motion carried.
Senator Lindsay moved that the bill be recommended for placement
on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was
so ordered.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 490 which had previously been
left pending.
Senator Lindsay moved that SB 490 be reported favorably to the
Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 1 nay, and 2
absent.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 492 which had previously been
left pending.
Senator Nelson moved that SB 492 be reported favorably to the
Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 2
absent. Senator Deuell asked to be shown voting aye; without
objection, the motion carried.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 493 which had previously been
left pending.
The Chair moved adoption of the committee substitute for Senate
Bill 493; without objection, the motion carried.
Senator West moved that Senate Bill 493 do not pass but that the
committee substitute for Senate Bill 493 be reported back to the
Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 1 nay, and 2
absent. Senator Deuell asked to be shown voting aye; without
objection, the motion carried.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 594 which had previously been
left pending.
The Chair moved that SB 594 be reported favorably to the Senate
with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The
motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 2
absent. Senator Deuell asked to be shown voting aye; without
objection, the motion carried.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 602 which had previously been
left pending.
Senator West moved that SB 602 be reported favorably to the
Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, and 2
absent. Senator Deuell asked to be shown voting aye; without
objection, the motion carried.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 810 which had previously been
left pending.
Senator Gallegos moved adoption of the committee substitute for
Senate Bill 810; without objection, the motion carried.
Senator Gallegos moved that Senate Bill 810 do not pass but that
the committee substitute for Senate Bill 810 be reported back to
the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be
printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0
nays, 1 present not voting and 2 absent. Senator Deuell asked
to be shown voting aye; without objection, the motion carried.
The Chair recalled Senate Bill 1065 which had previously been
left pending.
Senator West moved that Senate Bill 1065 be reported favorably
to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be
printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0
nay, and 2 absent. Senator Deuell asked to be shown voting aye;
without objection, the motion carried.
There being no further business, at 1:08 p.m. Senator Nelson
moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of
the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
