         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, March 17, 2003, in the  
         Administration Committee Office, E1.714

         The chair called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Wentworth moved adoption with a few minor changes of the  
         minutes from the previous hearing held on March 10, 2003;  
         without objection, it was so ordered.  
          
         Chairman Harris asked if there were any questions or comments  
         about any of the bills recommended for the March 20, 2003, Local  
         and Uncontested Calendar. There was discussion.    Senator Van  
         de Putte moved that all bills with the exception of SB 535 and  
         SB 597 on the Local and Uncontested Calendar recommended list be  
         certified; the motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0  
         nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.  Senator Hinojosa asked  
         to be shown voting aye on the certification of the recommended  
         list for the March 20, 2003, Local and Uncontested Calendar;  
         without objection, it was so ordered. 
          
         There being no further business, at 5:23 p.m. Senator Harris  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
