         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on July 15,  
         2003, the House Committee on Transportation met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Krusee, at 3:02 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Krusee; Hamric; Garza; Harper-Brown;  
                   Hill; Laney; Mercer (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Phillips; Edwards (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 8 
          
         The chair recalled HB 8 from subcommittee.  
          
         Representative Garza offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Harper-Brown moved that HB 8, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Krusee; Hamric; Garza;  
                             Harper-Brown; Hill; Mercer (6).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     Representative Laney  (1).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Phillips; Edwards  (2).  
           
         At 3:10 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
