Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on May 5,
2003, the House Committee on Regulated Industries met in a
public hearing and was called to order by the chair,
Representative King, at 8:43 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives King; Hunter; Baxter; Crabb (4).
Absent: Representatives Turner; Guillen; Wolens (3).
A quorum was present.
SB 1261
The chair laid out SB 1261.
Representative King offered a complete committee substitute.
The chair explained the measure.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the committee
substitute was adopted. The motion to reconsider prevailed
without objection.

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Guillen moved that SB 1261, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives King; Hunter; Baxter; Crabb;
Guillen (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Turner; Wolens (2).
SB 1280
The chair laid out SB 1280.
The chair explained the measure.
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)
The chair closed on the measure.
Representative Crabb moved that SB 1280, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives King; Hunter; Baxter; Crabb;
Guillen (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Turner; Wolens (2).
At 10:30 p.m., on the motion of Representative Hunter and
without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call
of the chair.
