         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 19,  
         2003, the House Committee on Defense Affairs and State-Federal  
         Relations met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the  
         chair, Representative Corte, at 5:24 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Corte; Campbell; Berman; Delisi;  
                   Mabry; Merritt; Noriega; Seaman (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Moreno, Paul (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 945 
          
         The chair laid out SB 945 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Corte offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Berman moved that SB 945, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Corte; Campbell; Berman;  
                             Delisi; Merritt; Seaman (6).  
           
         Nays:               Representatives Mabry; Noriega (2).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         At 5:30 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
